People I Carry With Me

Today, I got a call from—from someone I’ve admired for a long time. It was unexpected, and so good to reconnect. It reminded me of just how many truly wonderful people I’ve had the privilege of knowing over the years. Honestly, it’s overwhelming sometimes. There are so many hearts I wish I could stay connected to—so many lives that have brushed up against mine and left something behind.

If I could, I’d travel through space in just a few steps. I’d step through portals that connect me to all those amazing humans I’ve crossed paths with—past coworkers, friends, mentors, kind strangers, those with deep souls. You know who you are. You can feel it as you read this. If you stop and reflect, you’ll know I’m thinking about you. Because yes—I am thinking about your incredible character, your presence, and your being. You left an imprint.

This isn’t fluff. It’s not some quirky jennwren poem. It’s just me—Jenn Call, a once rural kid turned sailor turned worldly, turned servant—trying to put into words how deeply I appreciate the people who’ve walked even a small part of this life with me. You’re part of my story. Thank you.
